🥄 Ingredients
- 1 kg diced beef
- 1 kg basmati rice, pre-soaked
- 250 g cooked green peas
- 200 g diced carrots
- 1.5 kg diced cooked beef
- 4 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tbsp salt
- 4 large onions (approximately 800 g)
- 2 Maggi cubes
- 1 cup beef stock
- 3 cups boiling water
- Roasted almonds and cashews
👩🍳 Instructions
- Boil the meat cubes with the onions and spices until fully cooked, then set aside.
- Finely chop the onion and heat the ghee in a pan. Add the onion and sauté, then cover and cook until the onion is fully cooked and the liquid has almost evaporated. Add the peas and carrots, stir, and cover for 5 minutes. Then add the meat broth and boiling water, and let the mixture simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Add the pre-soaked and drained rice, stir well with the other ingredients, and let it cook, covered, for 5 minutes. When the water level has reduced by half, reduce the heat to low for 2 minutes, then reduce it to the lowest setting. Cook until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed, then turn off the heat.
- Preparing the Bundles:
- You can use large spring roll wrappers for the Ouzi or ready-made pastry, as they give a more attractive appearance and a golden color.
- In a suitable-sized bowl, place a sheet of dough, then several cubes of meat, a few cashews and toasted almonds, and top with the rice mixed with peas and carrots. Roll the dough tightly around the filling and place it in a greased baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Once you have used all the dough, place it in the oven on the top rack at the highest temperature setting and wait until it turns golden brown.
🌹 Decoration
Garnish the Ouzi dish with lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and cucumber.
